Empowering Youth - Troubled Teen Equine Programs

TOUCH HEARTS. CHANGE LIVES!

"Horses change lives. They give our young people confidence and self-esteem.
They provide peace and tranquility to troubled souls, they give us hope!"
- Toni Robinson

Finding Common Ground is a technique for facilitating relationships. Participants must look for signals of recognition, which are often subtle and misinterpreted. This technique may be verbal or non-verbal (using body language) and provides participants new paths toward healing and healthy relationships.

Common Ground is our youth program dedicated to providing hands-on education and real-life experiences through natural horsemanship. We focus on the communication, trust, and love that transpires between a horse and their human partner.

Connecting with an equine guide offers opportunities to deepen our connections with others, with our authentic selves, and with the world around us. When we feel connected we are better able to participate in our relationships and deal with the daily stresses in our lives with awareness and insight.

As prey animals, horses are intensely sensitive to changes and emotions and are true reflections of what we are really feeling. Participants benefit and learn from each persons experience and will develop a greater sense of compassion, innovation, energy, adaptability, and creativity. We work together with the horses in play to gain a confidence that comes from learning how to establish boundaries and direct a thousand pound creature through mental focus, creative visualization and clarity of intent.
